Meeting spot — the «30 in 30» award

PROTECT STATUS: not protected

Meeting Point

Two cohorts. Two trajectories. A single numeral «30.»The design for the «30 in 30» award is inspired by Strelka—the confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers in Nizhny Novgorod. The plasticity of the two converging lines connects the city’s image with the university and its alumni.

01 / Everything Begins with the Arrow

The Volga and Oka rivers meet in Nizhny Novgorod. Two streams, with different specializations, continue their journey together. This image became the starting point for the award’s form. The lines of the three and the zero converge and visually intersect, forming the overall silhouette of a «30.» The broad arcs and smooth constrictions convey the flow of the water. This is a plastic interpretation of the confluence of the rivers.

02 / Light Reveals the Current

The blue line establishes movement, while the transparent contour allows space and reflects the adjacent form. As it turns, the overlaps and highlights change, yet the overall impression of the award remains unified. The convex surfaces and smooth transitions render the numeral into a small sculpture. The air between the elements maintains a feeling of lightness.

03 / The Award Becomes Personal

The general form unites the award recipients, while the personalized insert preserves the individuality of each person. The official mark of HSE University—Nizhny Novgorod, the name, the nomination, and the year—are gathered on a dark blue base. The name is the main textual emphasis. The replaceable insert is flush with the front plane. A fictional name, «Anna Smirnova, ” was used for the visualizations.
