PLASTIC DREAMS

Without finding support, we are trying to find a synthetic replacement for our «I»: whether it’s an Internet community whose values fill the void inside; accounts of «ideal» beautiful women living an impeccable life; or profiles of incredibly successful personalities rushing to explain how «real» the world works and how to take its place as an ambassador. In this sense, without realizing our true aspirations and values, we begin to dream of becoming what we are not. The dream of a life that is often far from reality, many of us live this synthetic life in a virtual space that has become an entire universe of inflammable illusions. This artificial world makes it possible to escape the increasingly disturbing reality, but when stuck in it, we are empty, becoming bright but plastic Internet exhibits, goods competing in the beauty of the wrappings on a network-wide window. I’d like to talk about this mountain of plastic with pleasure, which we’re losing ourselves.
