From accidental discoveries to intentional design
Most creative processes leave something behind: test prints, technical mistakes, unexpected traces, and discarded ideas. We pay attention to these leftovers.Vo-da is an independent creative studio working with graphics, print, and physical objects. We explore the possibilities of the unexpected, turning overlooked materials and familiar forms into new visual work.

The Other Side of the Moon / printmaking, graphics, and printed objects
During linocut printing, ink leaves accidental marks on the protective paper beneath the press. These traces are usually treated as by-products of the printing process. What happens when the by-product becomes the project? We began to consider these accidental marks as independent graphic works rather than unwanted traces.

The discovered graphics became the basis of a series of linocut prints, produced at the Vlipli print workshop. The graphics were applied to T-shirts, shirts, accessories, and postcards. The resulting collection gives a new purpose to marks that were never intended to become finished images.
Europe / photography, visual research
A 19-day journey through Europe became an opportunity to explore the details of the urban environment. We were interested in what usually escapes a visitor’s attention: strange artifacts, overlooked details, and processes caught at unexpected moments.Over 19 days, we photographed urban landscapes, temporary arrangements, and scenes that revealed unusual aspects of everyday surroundings.
The photographic series helped us define our interests more clearly. It reinforced an idea that continues to guide Vo-da: interesting visual material is not always something we create. Sometimes, it is something we notice.vo-da.vercel.app/europe
Construction / 3D printing, objects
Temporary constructions and ordinary building materials are familiar elements of the urban landscape. Their shapes are functional, repetitive, and often overlooked. We wanted to reinterpret these familiar forms, changing their scale, function, and material.
The series consists of five 3D-printed objects inspired by construction materials and temporary urban structures, including brick-shaped coasters, corrugated forms, and a traffic-cone keychain. The objects are printed in photoluminescent plastic that charges under ultraviolet light and glows in the dark. The acidic glow transforms familiar construction elements into an image of an eerie, almost toxic city.
About us
Vo-da is a creative studio founded by Anton Volnenko and Ulyana Danilevskaya in Moscow. The project began during our studies at HSE School of Design, when we noticed how many interesting materials remained outside the final presentation of a project. We started collecting and exploring these materials. They eventually became the starting point for our studio.
Our practice moves between graphic design, printmaking, photography, and three-dimensional experimentation. We are interested in commissions and collaborations involving graphic concepts, printed works, experimental objects, and unexpected materials. We value clear visual decisions, cultural references, and the freedom to experiment.vo-da.vercel.app
